Toshiba’s TEFC-EQPIII is designed to meet the ever increasing need for improved energy conservation and product reliability. Motors are built from 3/4HP through 500HP, 900RPM to 3600RPM, 230/460, 460 or 575 volt, in frame sizes from 143T through 5810U. All Motors are cast iron IP54 protected, built to meet NEMA Premium Efficiency, and are inverter ready. Motors feature Design C torque capabilities, low temperature rises and typical vibration levels (unfiltered) of 0.08 in/sec or less. These motors carry a Three Year Warranty.

Motors are built from 3/4HP through 200HP, 3600RPM to 900RPM, 460 or 575 volt, in frame sizes from 143T through N449T. All Motors are cast iron IP55 protected, built to meet NEMA Premium Efficiency, and are inverter ready. These motors are built to meet or exceed IEEE Std 841-2001 specifications and feature Inpro/Seal on both the DE and ODE, typical vibration levels (unfiltered) of 0.04 in/sec or less, and include a test report on every motor. These motors carry a Five Year Warranty.

Explosion Proof Motors

Toshiba Explosion Proof motors are available in 143T- 447TZ frames, and are suitable for the following hazardous locations: Class I, Group D; Class II, Groups E,F & G. The following features are included: Class F insulation system, oversized bearings of vacuum degassed steel, and non-sparking brass flinger.

Oilwell Pump

Toshiba’s Oil Well Pump motors share the same quality features as our other ODP designs. Motors are built from 5HP through 100HP, 1200RPM, 230/460-796 volts, in frame sizes from 215T through 444T. All motors are cast iron and feature high slip (5-8%) high torque design, fully guarded with rodent screens, thermal protection, oversized cast iron terminal box with ground and ground terminal on frame. These motors are designed to be used in more remote locations where they may not be checked often and reliability is of top importance.

Quarry Duty

Toshiba Quarry Duty Motors are built extra tough to handle the special stresses of quarry applications. Motors are built from 75HP through 600HP, 900 to 1800RPM, 230/460 – 460 – or 575 volt, in frame sizes 365T through 5810UZ. All motors are cast iron and feature high torque design, high tensile strength motor shafts, grade 8 hardware, cast iron terminal box, and an insulation system designed to handle the stresses produced during start-stop operations.

Vector Ready

Toshiba’s Vector Ready products are built and designed for inverter or vector applications that typically include material handling, conveyor, machine tool, and many other process oriented applications. Motors are built from 1HP through 75HP, 1800RPM, 460 volt, in frame sizes from 143T through 365T. All motors are cast iron and are manufactured in TEFC, TENV and TEBC enclosures and feature a 2000:1 Constant Torque turndown capability when in vector mode.

Toshwash SS

Toshiba’s Toshwash motors have been designed and built to meet the extreme demands of the food and pharmaceutical industries. Motors are built from 1/2HP through 5HP, 1800 & 1200RPM, 230/460 & 575 volt, in frame sizes 56C through 184TC. All motors are stainless steel in fan cooled and non-ventilated designs and are suitable for washdown. Motors feature low-friction, high pressure shaft seal, multiple O-ring seals, multiple drain plugs, fully encapsulated winding, and precision sealed terminal box. The Toshiba Toshwash motor is the ideal solution for all of your washdown application needs.



Vertical

Toshiba’s vertical solid shaft thrust motors are built with the petrochemical and material processing industries in mind. Motors are built from 15HP through 250HP, 1200RPM to 3600RPM, 460 or 575 volt, in normal (HP) and medium (LP) thrust designs, in frame sizes from 250LP/HP through 440LP/HP. Motors are available in standard and premium efficiencies and are all cast iron construction. In addition, our LP design meets API 610 specifications for chemical processing applications and all motors include a patent-pending lubrication system that provides improved flow and circulation of grease and oil for longer bearing life.

Q: Where are Toshiba motors manufactured?
A: Toshiba motors are designed, built, manufactured and tested at our 550,000 square foot facility located in Houston, Texas. We are proud to be one of the few motor manufactures who start with raw materials and make finished products here in North America.

Q: Are your motors ISO certified compliant?
A:ISO does not certify individual products... ISO certifies manufacturing facilities. Our Houston facility is ISO certified and has been since 1994. We must pass routine audits to maintain that certification. All Toshiba motors are manufactured in our ISO-9001 certified facility in Houston. This is your guarantee that our motors really do meet our published specs.

Q: What standard features come on all Toshiba motors?
A: All Toshiba motors include standard features such as cast iron frames, oversized bearings, precision balancing and high-grade insulation.

Q: Do Toshiba motors meet NEMA Design B minimum locked rotor torque requirements?
A: Even with a 10% voltage drop, our motors exceed NEMA Design B minimum locked rotor torque requirements. In fact, most of our ``off the shelf standard and premium efficiency motors meet NEMA Design C torque requirements which eliminates the need for a special order motor.

Q: What is Toshiba's maximum allowable vibration level?
A: Toshiba's maximum allowable vibration level is 0.10 inch per second, which allows for smoother and quieter operation resulting in longer motor life. Our precision balance helps to lower bearing temperature rise, bearing wear, and the risk of down time due to bearing failure.

Q: Do Toshiba motors allow for multiple starting methods?
A: Our motor designs with multiple leads allow for a variety of starting methods. 12 lead, dual voltage motors are suitable for Across-the-Line starting, Wye-Delta starting, and Part-Winding starting (on low voltage only). Multiple leads allow for motor usage on 208, 230 or 460 volt systems.

Q: Are Toshiba motors ``Inverter Compatible?
A: Toshiba's EQPIII series motors have been designed for use with adjustable speed drives. Low temperature rises, upgraded insulation systems (NEMA MG1 part 31), improved magnet wire, and proper application support are required for the reliable use of motors with PWM inverters. Toshiba motors and adjustable speed drives are all manufactured under one roof, with careful engineering, coordination and testing to ensure total system compatibility.
